Hello! My name is Edita and I am the creator of è Kin. My pieces come to life in a small home studio in the heart of Copenhagen.
What is è Kin and who is behind it?
What is è Kin and who is behind it?
è Kin is a one-woman-brand of handmade ceramic artwork, focusing on the design and production of unique items in limited quantities.
How it all started
I approached ceramic making in my early teenage and it quickly became one of my favourite subjects in arts school. After graduating, my attention got diverted onto different interests and it wasn’t until 2020, when I got into candle making, that it all came back. I loved the look of candles in a clay vessel but I couldn't find something that I liked for sale, so I decided to just do it myself. Even though I stopped making candles (for now) it made me realise how much love I still had for pottery. My boyfriend once joked "candle making was a gateway to pottery" and I couldn't agree more!

Why ceramics?
There is something special about clay. Its warm nature gives a calming sensation. The infinite variations of colour, texture and shape allows the creator to express themselves in countless ways. Every ceramic object has its own soul and character. I find pottery fascinating and a perfect medium for self expression.
Inspiration
A big part of my inspiration comes from interiors and ceramics being a part of it I try to complement the space adding that homely harmony that only ceramics can provide.
Techniques
I currently use hand building techniques like “slab building” and “coiling”. I am planning to go back to wheel throwing in the future too! You can find out how each piece is made in the item description
